Program
Overview
Many young learners in Kenya’s informal settlements face a shortage of positive role models and a lack of spiritual guidance. The Mentor Me Program at Beyond the Vision Initiative (BVI) addresses these gaps by offering structured mentorship rooted in Christian values. From weekly in-term sessions to daily holiday meet-ups, children gain consistent support in academic, emotional, and moral development.
A Holistic Approach to Youth Development
In areas where crime, substance abuse, and exploitative practices are all too common, Mentor Me serves as a safe haven for growth. Using tailored, need-based teaching materials, program facilitators help children develop leadership skills, emotional well-being, self-confidence, and a steadfast moral compass. External mentors—often successful professionals—also bring fresh perspectives, inspiring students to pursue higher aspirations and break the cycle of generational poverty.

Objectives
- Instill Core Christian Values
Integrate biblical teachings, encouraging children to embrace integrity, kindness, and accountability. - Foster Emotional & Social Growth

Expose older students (especially scholarship beneficiaries) to various career paths, fueling their motivation to excel. - Promote Community Leadership
Encourage participants to model responsible behavior, influence their peers positively, and uplift local neighborhoods. - Expand Program Accessibility
Develop a comprehensive, replicable curriculum so other schools and communities can adopt the Mentor Me model.
